The summer solstice in Kangerlussuaq was “dreary, damp, and cool,” writes Ed Stockard. “Light rains fell this morning down low. Up on the hills we had a dusting of snow. The meeting of snow and clouds blended to make it difficult to see the ridgeline.

“We welcome summer to Kangerlussuaq? If we are lucky, the mosquitoes got knocked back a notch or two.”
